Claim: Senator-elect Robinhood Padilla claims PNoy did nothing for education and employment during his term
Rating: FALSE
In a series of tweets posted by PNoy’s Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, he debunked Robin Padilla’s claim that the late former President Benigno Aquino III did not do anything in the fields of education or livelihood generation. (https://twitter.com/dawende/status/1528375116626767872…)
The TikTok video in which Lacierda reinforced his claim showed Padilla ranting about people comparing his plans to those in the past administrations.
He asked, “Bakit ang mga sinusuggest niyo, hindi niyo ginawa sa panahon niyo?” referring to suggestions made by Franklin Drillon.
Padilla stated that he has plans that will benefit the country far better than what has been done by the past administrations. (https://www.tiktok.com/@fai0…/video/7100319263294016795…)
Lacierda stated in his thread that the Philippines gained its first investment status under PNoy’s term with notable contributions to education (K-12) and the BPO industry. (https://www.bworldonline.com/…/a-look-back-at-the-pnoy…/)
Why we fact-checked this? A newly-elected public official who has zero experience should not be cock-sure about his abilities and should research about the past administrations so he would not repeat their mistakes or make false claims on their achievements.
