Claim:

A fan group posted a photo of premium rice selling for P20 a kilo in Quezon City.
Rating: FALSE
It was supposed to be in a rice stall in QC selling the White Pigeon brand of sinandomeng. (https://www.facebook.com/100044902184754/posts/561002878739780/?d=n)
Funny but the White Pigeon was the only one for P20 while the others were selling normally for P36 to P45.
Prices for White Pigeon range from P950 to P1,080 for a 25 kg sack or P38 to P43 a kilo. For White Pigeon to sell P20 a kilo could only mean it was infested with weevils or bukbok.
Reverse search for the image showed no other pictures so there’s a strong possibility that it was staged.
The original post was from a fan group of Barbie Forteza, whose career seemed to not be approaching stardom for more than five years now. Her groupie is known as Barbienatics. This is their most viral post with 84K reactions and 23K shares until it was flagged as FAKE.
