Claim: Maria Ressa received 4.5 million dollars from billionaire “New World Order Communist”

The facts: A tweet from user ‘@paosese’ claimed that Rappler CEO Maria Ressa received 4.5 million dollars from Hungarian-American businessman George Soros.
In her tweet, she said: “Convicted @mariaressa tumanggap ng 4.5M DOLLARS kay @georgesoros one of the plutocrats running New World Order communist. Kapal”
The tweet also contains an outdated graphic from GMA News back when Ressa was arrested in 2019 for a different case.
This is false.
The claims made in this tweet have no evidence. Maria Ressa already quote tweeted the claim to disprove it saying that it is just another lie.
According to Wikipedia, The New World Order (NWO) is a conspiracy theory that hypothesizes a secretly emerging totalitarian world Government.
George Soros, the famous man linked to Ressa in this canard is a Hungarian-American businessman and the founder of the Open Society Foundation.
There is no logical reason to put one and one together.
