FOLLOWING the classification of Benguet and Baguio City as Alert Level 4 from September 24 – 30 under the Department of Health guidelines, the municipality of Sablan has put forward a scheme to control travel from Sablan to Baguio City.

Under Executive Order No. 123, Series of 2021, Sablan Municipal Mayor Manuel Munar Jr. has issued a schedule that Sablan residents must follow if they are traveling to Baguio City.

Travel from Sablan to Baguio City and other municipalities in the Baguio La – Trinidad – Itogon – Sablan – Tuba – Tublay (BLISTT) area is restricted to only essential travel.

The restrictions and scheduling will last until October 3, but is open to extension following future analysis of the situation.

On Monday and Thursday, residents from Barangays Banangan, Kamog, and Pappa can travel to Baguio, while Banengbeng, Balluay and Bagong residents can travel to the city on Tuesday and Friday.

Meanwhile, the remaining residents of Poblacion and Bayabas can go to Baguio on Wednesday and the two Saturdays within the period, while no travel between Sablan and Baguio will be allowed on the Sundays covered under the prescribed period. .

At the same time, the BLISTT Joint Advisory signed on Tuesday, September 21, prevents all non-essential travel into the area for non-residents, while individual local governments can apply restrictions as needed into inter-area travel from residents.
