Nearly 1,300 cops deployed for Cordi Simbang Gabi

BRIGADIER Gen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCOR), has ordered the deployment of personnel under the ‘Ligtas Kapaskuhan 2022’ to ensure the safety of the churchgoers and tourists who will visit the different churches in the region.

According to the Regional Operations Division (ROD), the PROCOR will deploy some 1,279 cops during the holiday season, with 427 cops to monitor the region’s roads and transport terminals.

852 personnel will meanwhile be deployed to secure public points of convergence such as public markets, malls, parks, and churches and other places of worship.

Another 427 personnel are in the reserves of the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF), ready to deploy if more manpower is needed.

In addition to the deployed PROCOR personnel, a total of 495 volunteers and force multipliers will also be mobilized as part of the security and crime prevention measures during the celebration of the long holiday.
