FOLLOWING heavy rains brought about by Super Typhoon Henry and Tropical Depression Gardo, a landslide killed a farmer in Sitio Natulan, Brgy Mongol, Mayoyao on Thursday.

Reports to the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) Regional Director Pb. Gen. Mafelino Bazar identified the farmer as Renie Omayho Bullan, 37 years of age.

The Mayoyao municipal police station (MPS) reported that Bullan was trapped in his brother’s house in Sitio Natulan. The house was buried due to a landslide on August 31.

Joint forces of Ifugao PPO, Bureau of Fire Protection, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and other volunteers, immediately responded to the area to conduct search and rescue operations.

Bullan’s body was successfully recovered on Thursday.

Initial investigations indicate that Bullan came to his brother’s house to get his motorcycle but stayed due to heavy rains. While there, the landslide occurred, trapping and killing Bullan.

The body of the victim was brought to his residence at Sitio Natimlan, Brgy. Mongol, Mayoyao, Ifugao.
