THE municipality of Kabayan in Benguet has reopened itself to limited tourism on Wednesday, March 2.

Through Executive Order No. 20-2022, issued by municipal mayor, Basilio Louie Daoal Jr., Kabayan has begun re-allowing tourists coming from select locations in Luzon.

EO 20-2022 allows tourists specifically coming from Baguio, other municipalities in Benguet, Tinoc in Ifugao, and Kayapa in Nueva Vizcaya.

Similar to Baguio City, Kabayan has enforced a hard limit on tourist arrivals per day in the municipality. For Kabayan, the limit is 100 tourists a day, who must pre-book their slots and arrival at the municipality through the Municipal Tourism Office.

Entrants into the town are required to present a COVID-19 vaccination card as proof of full vaccination, or a negative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) swab test results within 24 hours of entry into the municipality, along with a valid government ID and a hard copy of their approved online registration for entry.

However, a separate registration is put in place for visitors wanting to visit popular tourist sites Mt. Pulag, Mt. Tabayoc, Four Lakes, and Burial Rocks.

Registration for entry into the municipality is processed daily from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., according to the municipal tourism office.
