Jolly Limmayog feeds bees at their family-owned apiary near the Baguio Mansion House. Limmayog, who studied Beekeeping at SLU in 2014, admits to being passionate about honey production, starting with three colonies in 2014.
Now, the family has bee farms in Mt. Province and Kalinga, manned by relatives and friends who are their scholars and trainees before applying as beekeepers in New Zealand and Australia. He shares that most applicants to the two countries are accepted due to the reputation that Cordillerans are industrious beekeepers. Their pesticide-free apiary supplies honey to a Manila-based pharmaceutical company which has been their partner from an early start. Photo by Francheska Mayumi
