BAGUIO Mayor Benjamin Magalong has entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Department of Public Works and HIghways (DPWH) for two projects in Wright Park, subject to the review and approval of the Baguio City Council.

According to Resolution No. 428, series of 2022, which authorizes the mayor to enter into the MOA, the city council shall review the MOA once signed.

The two projects are worth some P29.4 million and P49.5 million respectively, funded by the DPWH under its regular infrastructure program for 2022.

Both projects are multi-purpose buildings along the vicinity of Wright Park, with one next to the park itself and one further in Barangay Lualhati.

The two projects are identified as sustainable infrastructure projects alleviating gaps (SIPAG).

The council has put forward a recommendation that the mayor review or revisit policies in the formation of guidelines for securing funds for city projects.

At the same time, the council has also put forward the possibility of the need for a program to have each barangay in the city be provided with similar structures, the maintenance of the structures, availability of funds for other structures for all the other barangays among others.
