SESSION Road has closed again for yet another mini-trade fair in the heart of the city.

Both lanes of Session Road in the central business district closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00  A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday to make way for the vendors that will be allowed to utilize the thoroughfare to showcase and sell their goods.

Under Executive Order No.33, series of 2021, the road was utilized for a one-day mini-trade fair for the city’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The move is in line with the easing of travel restrictions in the Philippines in a bid to stimulate local and tourist spending alike for the participant MSMEs.

According to Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Session Road will be the best venue for the MSME showcase as the area is accessible and open-air while still providing enough space to comply with health protocols.

“The success of this coming Sunday Market Showcase shall serve as a study of the activity’s sustainability in fostering entrepreneurship of our citizens while still implementing minimum public health standards,” Magalong said.

Previously, before the pandemic, Session Road was closed for multiple events, including a showcase of Mindanao-sourced fruits.
