REPRESENTATIVE Allen Mangaoang of Kalinga Province has sourced some P83 million worth of budget from various government agencies for projects in the province.

P31 million is from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), earmarked for continued implementation of the government internship program and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers Program.

P27 million came from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the regular Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program in the province, set for the people coming from the province’s seven towns and lone city.

P22 million came from the Department of Health (DOH) for the government’s medical assistance for indigent patients in the province.

The health facilities where the funds had been allocated include the Kalinga Provincial Hospital, Cagayan Valley Medical Center, Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney and Training Institute, Philippine General Hospital and Lung Center of the Philippines.

The remaining P3 million is from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), earmarked for special training programs for individuals seeking skills development for employment purposes.

According to Mangaoang, the aim is to consume the P83 million worth of funding by the end of the year, freeing up the province to acquiring more funding under the proposed budget for next year.
