THE COVID-19 situation in Baguio City continues to escalate for the third week in a row as July rounds out with more cases being added to the active total.
Compared to last week’s 165 cases, some 100 active cases have been added to the total, bringing the active case count as of July 27, Wednesday to 265.
Wednesday saw a single day case count of 74, comprising 67 new cases and seven reinfections.
However, the cases remain mostly mild, with 10 asymptomatic cases and 64 mild cases.
Healthcare use has increased from last week as well, with intensive care unit (ICU) bed usage jumping from 16 percent to 30 percent or 16 out of 44 available beds.
Total usage, including non-ICU beds, has hit 20 percent, or 76 out of 379 total beds available in the city.
