BENGUET Congressman Eric Go Yap has pledged to get the Department of Public Works and Highways to provide P80 million for the repair and improvement of the Pines Park bridge in La Trinidad, along the Balili River.
The bridge was damaged by Typhoon Fabian and the subsequent three weeks of nonstop monsoon rains, necessitating its closure to vehicular traffic.
According to Yap, he is working to ensure that the P80 million for the bridge will be included in the 2022 national annual budget.
At the same time, Yap said that his office will attempt to expedite sourcing the P80 million as much as possible to avoid the project being delayed by the election ban on project implementations in the coming year.
Under the repair and rehabilitation project, there will also be a flood control project along the Balili River, in addition to the repairs and improvement of roadworthiness of the Pines Park Bridge itself.
