BAGUIO Mayor Benjamin Magalong has directed the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) to look into producing more attractions to draw tourists and traffic to the Botanical Garden, including music.
Magalong directed the CEPMO through its head, Rhenan Diwas, to procure the necessary equipment to begin adding music to the park.
According to Diwas, the fund for procuring the sound systems that the city plans to install in the park is already part of the budget and accounted for, and the office is now undergoing the procurement process to properly acquire the equipment.
In the interim, as the city is still looking to procure the sound systems, the CEPMO has allowed select musicians and buskers to perform in the area instead.
Magalong said that putting additional attractions at the Botanical Garden would generate greater revenues for the city’s coffers by enticing more visitors, including younger people like students.
