Baguio City’s first electric vehicle (EV) charging station has been opened in SM Baguio for the use of the general public free of charge.

The EV charging station in SM City Baguio will feature the Tritium EV Charger from Emicor, SM Supermalls’ EV charging partner. The Tritum EV Charger is compatible with vehicles that are common in Europe, Australia, and South America, as well as Japanese-made vehicles.

The charging station is capable of topping up a vehicle in the span of 30 minutes to an hour.

“We are committed to making the shift towards sustainable and greener transportation more accessible to our kababayans. That’s why we are making sure that we are installing more and more EV charging stations in SM Malls around the country,” SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan said.

These charging stations are a result of SM Supermalls’ partnership with the Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and the Department of Trade and Industry to accelerate the government’s renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.
