THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) turned over P7.48 million worth of farm equipment to Abra farmers on April 10, Monday.
The equipment included a hauling truck, two tractors, six mechanical rice threshers, various water pumps and hose rolls, electric power sprayers, four brass cutters, and three hand tractors.
The equipment was provided under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program of the DAR, which seeks to help agrarian reform communities adapt towards climate change resiliency.
“It is imperative for you to maximize the use of this equipment in the landholdings awarded to you to fulfill the vision of the government to improve the quality of your lives,” provincial agrarian reform program officer Mercedes Boronga said.
The equipment was given to the farmers through 4 different agrarian reform beneficiary organizations – Villa Banat Agriculture Cooperative, Abualan Farmers & ARB Agriculture Cooperative, Upper Luba FIA, and Raniag Pakiling Integrated Development Association Inc.
