Claim: “Pinklawans” defined as anti-progress, CPP-NPA supporters in Urban Dictionary
Rating: FALSE
This entry in Urban Dictionary, an Internet database for slang, says that the term Pinklawan refers to “Liberal Party fans” and Leni fans. While this is true, the rest of the entry maligns the group at large (https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Pinklawan).
According to the entry, “Pinklawans” are focused on hampering growth and progress, maligning the government, supporting the CPP-NPA-NDF, hating poor people, and more.
This is False.
Ties to the CPP-NPA-NDF among Leni supporters have been debunked many times by reputable sources, and the “Pinklawan” movement is based on support for presidential candidate Leni Robredo, not on organized action against the government.
“They are entitled self-proclaimed superior beings and self-proclaimed well-educated elites. They hate poor people and they are notorious on shaming and insulting poor and illiterate people,” it added.
“They can also control the media, social media platforms, churches and some private sectors. They also support vote buying and election frauds.”
These accusations on the supporters of Leni Robredo are unfounded. How can the contributor “publicuser”accuse pinklawans of vote fraud and vote buying last November when the election was still to be held 7 months later?
This entry made on November 4, 2021 has been thumbed down 958 times and thumbed up only 95 times as of writing.
It is worth noting that Urban Dictionary is freely editable by any individual, and therefore is not always reliable.
