Claim: UFO spotted in Pangasinan and Baguio
Rating: LACKS CONTEXT
Facts: A few days before Christmas, a video was posted by Dapar Collado Mark showing what appears to be an unidentified flying object floating above Pangasinan.

The video shows an object that looks like a spacecraft. His video was not the only evidence of the object as there are multiple netizens who claim to have seen the same object that day. This includes netizens from Loakan, Baguio City.

If by UFO, you mean unidentified flying object, then it is. But an alien aircraft? Or a modern Santa sled?
Esquire speculated that it could be a spy blimp like the Philippine Navy’s TARS or a weather balloon.

Some have speculated that the “Spaceship” could be a 250 ft airship from China as it is similar in shape. But there is no official announcement from China that they have launched an airship this year. However, the Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences did hold test flights and one of those is the Jimu No. 1.

Why we fact-checked this: The sighting was on December 18, 2022. Yet no government entity has responded, leading to conspiracy theories.
