Claim: VP Leni Robredo threatens, “Pag natalo kami ibig sabihin nadaya tayo, pagnadaya tayo magkakagulo”
Rating: FALSE
The Facts: In a post by “D BBM Supporters” Facebook page, it is implied that Presidential candidate Leni Robredo threatens the voters by stating “ Sigurado na ang panalo namin ni Kiko. Pag natalo kami ibig sabihin nadaya tayo. Pag nadaya tayo magkakagulo”. The publication material also states Rappler as their official sources of the quote. (https://www.facebook.com/DBBMSupporters/posts/364448675724245)
There are no official posts, videos, or press conferences of the VP saying such.
As the post claims, Robredo has said this on Apr 15, 2022, which was Good Friday, and the candidate had no public schedule or appearances that day. Therefore, it is unlikely for VP Leni to make such a statement on the said day. (https://www.factrakers.org/…/robredo-s-quote-claiming…)
Rather, the quote could have referenced in Robredo’s speech in Cabuyao, Laguna where she was talking about her running mate, Kiko Pangilinan.
“Yung plano po sana ni Senator Kiko, re-election lang bilang senador at kung ginawa niya ‘yun, sigurado na siyang panalo” (https://staging.ovp.gov.ph/…/message-vice-president…)
Spokesperson for the OVP, Atty. Barry Gutierrez, also made it clear to the ABS-CBN Fact Check team that VP Robredo made no such threat that chaos would ensue if she were to lose the elections. (https://news.abs-cbn.com/…/fact-check-hindi-nagbanta-si…)
