Claim: Rizal was still alive during the Marcos regime.
Rating: FALSE
A conspiracy theory has been circulating around several social media sites claiming that our National Hero, Jose Rizal, was still alive during the Marcos administration and even supported Marcos during his term.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrVcsHNfTh4
The conspiracy states that Jose Rizal was not shot in Bagumbayan but instead lived up to a 113 years old and was able to establish World Bank alongside Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/…
This is false to the point of satire as there are no official records of either Marcos or Rizal establishing the “global debt facility” or World Bank.
https://www.rappler.com/…/ferdinand-marcos-jose-rizal…/
Furthermore, there are no credible sources to back up Rizal’s relationship with Ferdinand Marcos or even to prove that he was still alive when Marcos was President. Why this even became viral proves that stupidity indeed knows no bounds or, in this case, time.
