Candidate Bongbong Marcos has posted on his site an article claiming that 9 out of 10 Filipinos abroad have him as their preferred candidate.
This is false.
The Facts: The article (https://www.bongbongmarcos.com/…/business-mirror-bbm…/) cites two sources – SPLAT Communications and Pulso ng Pilipino. Two different surveys, according to the article, show Marcos at a commanding lead of 84.77 percent and 87.77 percent respectively.
However, Pulso ng Pilipino is a public relations (PR) company, as they admitted in the services page of their official site (https://www.pulsongpilipino.com/services), who offer various options such as “PR Survey and Public Opinion Polls”, and specialize in media relations and advertising.
The survey which is being cited appears nowhere in the Pulso ng Pilipino website where they show other surveys they have done.
The closest would be a survey that Pulso ng Pilipino had in their News Releases section (https://www.pulsongpilipino.com/untitled-galleryPage) where 1,200 respondents supposedly responded favorably for Marcos.
Meanwhile, the SPLAT Communications survey comes primarily from a YouTube channel whose content is primarily pro-Marcos vlogging and claims a total of 120,000+ respondents even though the channel itself has less than 11,000 subscribers and has view counts barely reaching 5 digits. The survey itself that is cited claims 4,343 respondents across the world, but SPLAT does not show the process behind the numbers, and the videos are simply a voiceover showing the supposed numbers of the survey without any context or background.
SPLAT Communications (https://www.youtube.com/c/SPLATCommunications), which runs the so-called “Kalye Surveys” that the article cites, features typical clickbait fare with very clear pro-Marcos leanings.
