The Claim: Maharlika TV claims that the quote card, stating that Bongbong Marcos is a drug addict, as confessed by Bongbong’s son, Vinny Marcos, came from a fact checker.
Rating: FALSE
The Facts: In an article published by a website advocating for Bongbong Marcos, Maharlika TV, it was alleged that the quote card came from a fact-checker named Chi Yap, who is not a part of #FactsFirstPH.
Why we fact-checked this: The concerning attacks on the press and human rights groups requires critical action. With Maharlika TV stating that, “We fact-check the fact-checkers when they f*ck up,” this maligning statement will not go unchallenged.
The details:
On April 1, 2022, Maharlika TV published an article to react on a quote card saying that William Vincent “Vinny” Marcos claimed that his father, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., was doing illegal drugs but not anymore.
The quote card has been viral on social media but was met with strong disagreement as the said claim was FALSE. This following an interview of Atty. Liza Araneta-Marcos and Vinny Marcos with the Philippine’s King of Talk, Boy Abunda on his online show, The Interviews Of The Wives And Children Of The 2022 Presidential Candidates.

Maharlika TV alleges that a certain Chi Yap posted the quote card on a Facebook group named ‘Online Bardagulan’.
The article, however, struck at fact checkers with the statement, “We fact check the fact-checkers when they fuck up.” [https://maharlika.tv/…/chi-yap-kung-sino-man-siya…/]
