The Facts: The NTF-ELCAC for the nth time red-tagged Leni Robredo and other progressive party lists by linking them with the CPP-NPA-NDF organizations.
According to the post on the NTF-ELCAC page, they congratulate the people for voting out Bayan Muna and Anakpawis partylists, which according to them, are partylists representing the CPP-NPA.
In the same post, they said that the increase in the votes of Kabataan Partylist can be linked to Leni Robredo conspiring with the CPP-NPA which targets the youth sector by radicalizing them. (https://www.facebook.com/ntfelcac/posts/354175730147879)
They stated that they filed a criminal case against the said party lists and would file more in the future.
These claims have already been debunked multiple times by various credible news media.
These party lists are still operating because they do not violate any laws. Specifically, Republic Act No. 7941 or the Party-List System Act. Section 6.2 of this law excludes any organization that “advocates violence or unlawful means to seek its goal.” (https://www.rappler.com/…/makabayan-lawmakers…/ https://www.upb.edu.ph/…/1100-factcheck-makabayan-bloc…)
The claim that Robredo colluded with the NPA has already been debunked multiple times as well. There is no truth in the claims that Robredo had been in contact with Joma Sison before, during, and after the election period. (https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/…/robredo-debunks-ties… https://www.rappler.com/…/text-blast-joma-sison…/)
Furthermore, the spokesperson of NTF-ELCAC, Lorraine Marie Badoy Partosa, is infamous for her red-tagging schemes. She faces at least 11 complaints and lawsuits for red-tagging different individuals and groups over the past few months.
The only factual claim in this post is how Kabataan Partylist garnered 530,000 votes compared to the 195,000 votes they got in the 2019 elections.
Why we fact-checked this: With 2,600 shares, the claim made in this post is a violation of human rights and a clear form of red-tagging. As a part of the government agency, these acts fall under fascism and should be condemned.
