A Facebook page, I Love Benguet – Atty. Thorrsson Montes Keith, says that boosters are dangerous. This, in light of the government’s campaign for the qualified adult population to get their COVID-19 booster shots amidst the Omicron surge. Atty. Thorrsson Keith is vying for congressman of Benguet.

FACTS: COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. COVID-19 vaccines were evaluated in tens of thousands of participants in clinical trials. The vaccines met the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) rigorous scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed to support emergency use authorization (EUA) according to the CDC.
This is reiterated by the DOH: COVID-19 vaccines that are granted with EUA by the FDA are considered safe and effective based on the available evidence to date.
WHY IT MATTERS: Although vaccination is not mandatory, the government highly encourages the public to get vaccinated and be protected against preventable disease.
