The Facts: Twitter user ‘Babaeng TagaMalolos’ claimed that President Bongbong Marcos Jr. is the first Filipino pilot president. Along with her statement was a picture of the president in a fighter jet.
This is false. The image of BBM in the fighter jet was from a flight capability demonstration for the Philippine Air Force. BBM was not the pilot; it was Lt. Col. Malbert Maquiling who was seated in the front of the jet.
Aside from this, In an interview with GMA News, Marcos said m, “I have been wanting to do that for a long time but I didn’t become a pilot so I took advantage,” when asked about his experience riding the fighter jet.
