Claim: Anthony “Ka Tunying” Taberna claims that Aika Robredo faked the whole sex-video fiasco and that VP Leni Robredo should apologize
Rating: FALSE
The Facts: In a video posted by Robin Sweet Showbiz on YouTube, Ka Tunying states that there is no evidence of the Vice President’s daughter participating in sex videos featured on various pornographic sites.
He goes further to say that the links are illegitimate and can even cause malware viruses when clicked.
But because of this, Ka Tunying states that the VP should apologize for rallying her supporters against whoever spread the videos because they are not true anyway. This makes it seem as though the presidential candidate was at fault for the spread of misinformation. This is an example of gaslighting and misogynism, blaming the supposed victim for demeaning herself. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnCXSZYh5U8)
Although the rumors of VP Leni’s daughters in malicious content have been debunked multiple times, it is apparent this is still an instance of harassment and cyber libel. (https://www.facebook.com/…/a.85704937…/5218200898235925/)
Aika Robredo also sought NBI for help against the people behind the fake video scandal on April 21 through a letter addressed to the NBI. (https://www.rappler.com/…/aika-robredo-seeks-nbi…/)
“Malinaw na krimen ito. At ang paraan para talunin ang mga ganito once and for all: Manalo tayo sa halalan, ayusin ang sistema, at panagutin ang mga nagkakalat nito,” spokesperson of Robredo, Atty. Barry Gutierrez stated. (https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/…/leni-robredo-on-hateful…)
Why we fact-checked this: The video has since garnered 195,370 views as of writing and frames Presidential Candidate Leni Robredo as vindictive in sharing her own daughter’s scandal. The video states that the VP and her daughters make too much of a big deal of this scandal even though it was not true and thus they must apologize to the people who might have tried to click the link and to the people that the VP has accused.
