Claim: ABS-CBN reporter is CPP-NPA-NDF member
Rating: FALSE
A tweet circulating on social media is claiming that ABS-CBN reporter Mike Navallo is part of the CPP-NPA-NDF.
This is false.
Facts: As “evidence” of this connection, the poster pointed to Navallo’s membership in the National Union of Journalists in the Philippines (NUJP).
The NUJP is not affiliated with the CPP-NPA-NDF and is merely an organization of journalists advancing freedom of the press.

Navallo has categorically denied any such accusations.

To date, there is no evidence or proof of Navallo being connected with the communist elements of the Philippines.
Why we fact-checked this: Red-taggers are back in stride putting targeted people into danger. Red-tagged individuals are vulnerable to death threats and violence. In some instances, targets of red-tagging are also harassed by accusations of terrorism.
