Barely a month past the latest incident, one Abreño has perished in the latest shooting case in Bangued town, Abra on Tuesday.
Sixty-two-year old Emanuel Bacarra Manglibo was ambushed at his home in Barangay Calaba, Bangued, on Tuesday evening, when an unidentified gunman shot him twice.
One of the bullets struck Manglibo in the head, leading to injuries that would prove fatal.
The retired engineer and former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Manglibo was rushed to Seares Memorial Hospital by responding cops, but he died en route from the headshot.
While the police have since begun a province-wide manhunt and deeper investigations, no details are yet known about the shooter who remains unidentified.
The incident is the latest spate of gun violence in Abra town, which has seen a string of incidents one after the other a few months ago before stopping in the month of October.
Shootings have taken place in Abra in May, August, September and October prior to this incident.
Local authorities and the local clergy have since called for peace and proper investigations as the shootings continue to unfold one after the other.
