Richmond S. Baguno’s dedication to his career and passion to help others achieve financial security earned him the distinction as InLife’s Club of Honors awardee.
One of the Insular Life’s (InLife) top financial advisors hails from Baguio. Richmond S. Baguno of Baguio District Sales Office IV was recognized as InLife’s 2022 Club of Honors awardee, second place, Underwriter of the Year.
Coming from a middle-class background, Baguno decided to strike it on his own. His father is a mechanical engineer while his mother was a housewife who later decided to work overseas.
“I’m just a typical person hanging out with relatives and friends. I think this is where I got my social skills in interacting with different kinds of people,” he said, adding that he hopes to experience many new endeavors in life.
Baguno noted that his aunt, Divina Sy, encouraged him to join the insurance industry in 2014.
“She’s the one who pushes me to take this road. Without her unwavering and unending guidance, I won’t be able to get here,” he said.
Baguno pointed out that encouraging Filipinos to become financially independent through wise investments is a challenge.
“Many are still unaware and uninformed about what insurance can do to our lives. This is why, we, financial advisors are here – to help our fellow Filipinos, to guide them where to invest to achieve their financial goals, and to guide them on how to secure their financial stability in order to fully utilize their growth financially,” he said.
He stressed that investing in life insurance is a necessity that most Filipinos are not aware of.
“Life is very unpredictable, you don’t know what and when the storm will come. But if you know you have what it takes to protect what you have in your life, you will never fear what is to come,” Baguno said.
The InLife awardee shared that a client’s investment decision led to financial freedom. “I have this client who’s looking for a way to invest with minimal risk and does have a good financial return, so I offered her insurance. And now after five years of continuous pay, she’s already receiving the benefits of her insurance every two years until the maturity date of the policy. She’s having the financial freedom that she’s yearning for,” he said.
Baguno’s dedication to his job and passion to help others achieve financial security earned him the distinction as InLife’s Club of Honors awardee. “For those who aspire to become a financial advisor, I won’t tell them that this is an easy job to do, but in this profession, your only limit is yourself,” he said.
Every year, InLife recognizes its top financial advisors and agency leaders nationwide for their excellent sales performance during the previous calendar year. The awardees champion the noble mission of life insurance professionals to help policyholders prepare for life’s uncertainties, achieve their financial goals, and secure the best future for their families.
InLife hopes to amplify its mission to provide “A Lifetime for Good” to Filipinos through its financial advisors and agency leaders. Visit https://www.insularlife.com.ph/become-a-financial-advisor for more details.
