Acting on a request from current Baguio Congressman Mark Go, the Department of Education (DepEd) which handles Baguio Teachers Camp has approved its opening to traffic starting this week and lasting for three months subject to potential extensions at the discretion of DepEd.

The camp will be open to traffic at differing hours, from six to nine in the morning and four in the afternoon to eight in the evening on weekdays, and from eight in the morning to six in the evening straight during Saturdays and holidays. On Sundays, the camp will only be open to traffic from eight in the morning to one in the afternoon.

The DepEd also provided that the camp will be closed during the conduct of events at Teachers Camp.

Additionally, the DepEd has imposed limits on what vehicles are allowed to ply Teachers Camp roads, limiting access to light vehicles and prohibiting jeepneys, smoke belching vehicles, and motorcycles with “loud exhausts.”

There is also an enforced speed limit of 20 kilometers per hour.

The camp was last opened to public access during the holiday season of last year in December, lasting until the first month of 2024.
