The provincial government of Benguet has organized a spectacular array of events to celebrate this year’s month-long celebration of the Adivay Festival.  Governor Melchor D. Diclas and the other government officials of Benguet Province cordially invite everyone to the 123rd Adivay Celebration.

This year’s theme, “Benguet: Gateway to Getaways,” holds a special significance as Benguet often acts as the initial passage for travelers heading to various tourist destinations. Governor Diclas emphasizes that while Benguet serves as a gateway, it also possesses its own hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

Governor Diclas officially launched the Adivay celebrations with the traditional ‘Kapihan sa Benguet’ at the Ben Palispis Auditorium last  October 24, 2023, setting the tone for the grand event.

The Adivay Festival kicked off with a Benguet cultural exchange and cultural ensemble training at the Benguet Sports Complex gymnasium last October 25-26, 2023. The pre-pageant for the Search for Mr. and Ms. Benguet 2023 is set on November 6, 2023. The yearly Mr. and Ms. Benguet will also be modified to add a portion where the candidates would be judged according to their project proposals for their respective advocacies, which they will implement when they win the crown.

The Grand Canao, is scheduled for November 23, 2023. During this event, there will be the traditional depap or pig catching, where various towns will have to catch their own pigs. Thirty or more pigs will be butchered during the depap.  Additionally, three cows will be butchered to feed the crowd in what is one of the highlights of the community festival.

Diclas said the provincial government will also put up a 14th tent for visitors and guests from other areas who will join the celebration.

He said Senator Imee Marcos is the invited guest in recognition of her assistance to the province.

Diclas said the public is welcome to attend this year’s celebration, stating that it has always been the custom of the people of Benguet to invite people not only to join the celebration, but to join the feast as well.
