IN a bid to control the flow of visitors into the now-crowded tourist site Botanical Garden, the Baguio City government has decided to require visitors to reserve time slots and schedule their visits online.
Starting on January 16, all visitors who have not registered their time slots or scheduled their visits through the Baguio Visitor Information and Tourist Assistance (VISITA) system will be turned away starting next week, Monday.
“Because of the long queues there, starting next week by Monday, through the Baguio VISITA, we will require, in the arrangement with the CEPMO and City Treasurer’s Office that everyone who will visit will have to book pre reservation. They have to reserve their slots online, so they come only during that time slot that has been given to them,” City Tourism Officer Alec Mapalo said.
The move is currently only applicable to the Botanical Garden specifically, while the city reviews its impact on visits, queue times, and traffic.
However, even though visitors are now required to preregister, payment for entry will still be done on-site.
