Claim: Leni claims that teenagers are the main victim of teenage pregnancy
Rating: FALSE
Facts: A circulating news that came from our tipline claims that former VP Leni Robredo said “Karamihan sa naka-experience ng teen pregnancy ay kabataan (Most of those who experienced teenage pregnancy are the youth),” when talking about women and reproductive health.
This is false. This is a deliberate attempt to make Robredo sound dumb.
This has been timed after she finished her term at the Harvard Kennedy School as a fellow of the Hauser Leaders Program. This is a very prestigious achievement and the trolls revived this joke to make fun of the former Vice-president.
This issue was actually an old fake news resurfacing from 2017. Multiple credible media outlets have already fact-checked this specific fake news.
The image used to create the fake graphic was from a March 2017 article by Rappler that used Robredo’s photo speaking at a forum at San Beda College.
