CLAIM: When you register your SIM Card, your telco can initiate mind control on you
RATING: FALSE
You’re watching too many bad sci-fi movies or listening avidly to Davao prophets.
FACTS: A Facebook post that has garnered 86,900 views and 462 comments claimed that submitting your information through the SIM card registration will allow billionaire Elon Musk to implant his “neurolink” technology. This will then lead to a loss in bank balance (as referenced in a screen grab).
This was started by a Davao-based pastor who has been posting about how machines linked to Wifi have been listening to their owners and eventually controlling them through mental telepathy.

Some of the posts were taken down but were screengrabbed and forwarded by like-minded people, mostly OFWs.
Most of these posts led to Elon Musk and his Neurolink company.
On December 1, Musk was reported saying that a wireless brain chip interface that his company developed will allow disabled patients to move and communicate again. He said that human clinical trials will start in six months.

The SIM Card Registration Act in the Philippines is a much different matter, however.
A SIM or a subscriber identity module is a computer memory card that you insert into your cellphone to allow the phone to sign in to your carrier’s network or another network you might use while roaming. It contains information that identifies you, and it can also store the information you save to it, such as your cellphone contacts. That feature can be useful if you use the same SIM card with multiple devices or if you want to move the SIM card and the associated data to a new phone.
It will not be able to let Elon Musk hypnotize you into doing or buying anything. If he could have done that he would not be bound to lose $200 billion.
