BAGUIO’s government has identified 10 potential farm-to-market roads (FMR) to benefit its farmers, according to Dr. Silandro Bested, head of the City Veterinary and Agriculture Office (CVAO).

While Bested did not identify the 10 locations for the roads, he said that the 10 potential FMR projects would run a cost of P200 million. The city is looking to get funding for the projects from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in addition to its own funds.

Meanwhile, the Traffic and Transport Management Division (TTMD) are looking to meet with barangay officials, private entities, and establishments to hash out plans to widen certain roads in the city.

According to Engr. Januario Borillo, head of the TTMD, there are areas for widening confirmed through surveys and Geographic Information System (GIS) maps and could be recovered for wider barangay and national roads.

Borillo said that there are currently road right-of-ways (RROWs) and parking spaces currently used by private entities, churches and academic institutions that could be reclaimed for public use.

Easements are also eyed for surface use as parking areas, sidewalks, utilities, and underground, for waterways and drainages, once mapped out.
