THE Baguio Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is reviewing more than 50 redevelopment projects lined up by the city government in accordance with the city and the mayor’s push against urban decay.

BCCI president Zosimo Abratique, who also represents the city public market, said that Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong sought their financial help for infrastructure for high-impact development projects such as parking buildings.

Local residents are also able to invest in bonds to help finance the development projects.

Abratique said the BCCI will be reviewing Baguio’s master plans for projects such as a cable car system and other planned projects to help with traffic, the environment, urban food production, education, and housing.

The city government intends to develop hubs such as the parks hub comprising of the city’s parks, the Cordillera gateway hub which leads to Halsema highway, and the Loakan airport hub. Magalong previously committed to finding a way to revive the Loakan airport for use.

Tabangin said agriculture projects were in the city’s investment zones, such as the southbound hub along Marcos Highway, where a modern abattoir would rise.

These projects not only benefit the city, but also the BLISTT (Baguio, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay), Magalong said.
