BENGUET province is 2nd place in terms of locally sourced revenue (LSR) growth on a year by year basis in the 2020-2021 fiscal year, according to the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BGLF).

The BLGF recognized Benguet province as part of its annual local revenue generation tally, which tracks how much yearly growth local economies saw in a fiscal year.

“The BLGF announces the list of the National Top Performing Provinces, Cities, and Municipalities in Local Revenue Generation for FY2021… in recognition of their exemplary efforts and performance towards sustainable growth and effective local fiscal management,” BLGF stated in their official announcement on Tuesday, August 2.

Based on the 2021 LSR figures, Benguet province saw a 67.9 percent LSR growth, having generated P683.65 million in local revenue in fiscal year 2021 compared to P407.15 million in fiscal year 2020.

The ranking is an improvement from the 2020 fiscal year rankings, where Benguet province placed 7th nationwide.
