Claim: Marcos avoided mentioning Ninoy Aquino in his SONA
Rating: TRUE
In his first State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Marcos allegedly avoided name-dropping the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
This is true.
The transcribed text of Marcos’s SONA speech indicates that he referred to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as Manila Airport.

It wasn’t even the proper name of the international airport during his father’s long term as president. It was the Manila International Airport before it was renamed as NAIA after his father’s nemesis.
Marcos made mention of the airport in reference to his plan to upgrade existing airports and create more international airports to decongest the NAIA bottleneck.
There are currently 12 International Airports in the Philippines. None of theses airports are named Manila Airport.

While we cannot presume to know why Marcos referred to the NAIA as Manila airport, there is currently no airport with such a name.
What was alarming was that the audience applauded after he said it. Will it be a portent of things to come? We wait and see.
