Claim: The International Criminal Court is backed by ‘Dilawans’

According to comments on Facebook page Duterte Supporters, the International Criminal Court (ICC) is probing former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s crimes because they are backed by the yellow-ribbon cult or the dilawans.
This is false. There is zero evidence that this international organization is backed by a yellow-ribbon cult. The cult itself is largely an imaginary cabal and its existence is believed only by conspiracists and propagandists.
The ICC is an organization that aims to hold those responsible accountable for their crimes and to help prevent these crimes from happening again. They investigate and, where warranted, try individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression.
The reason for the ICC’s investigation of Duterte was in their annual report which found a “reasonable basis to believe” that Duterte’s drug war has led to mass atrocities that could constitute “crimes against humanity.”
The Philippines withdrew from ICC membership on March 17, 2018, the second nation to do so after Burundi.
But according to ICC, an investigation is on its way for: “[a]ny alleged crime within the jurisdiction of the Court, including but not limited to the crime against humanity of murder, committed in the Philippines between 1 November 2011 and 16 March 2019 in the context of the so-called ‘war on drugs campaign.”
This means that despite Duterte’s withdrawal, the ICC still has jurisdiction over the Republic of the Philippines for violations of the Rome Statute.
This will pertain to the crimes allegedly committed during the period within which the Philippines was still a member. Therefore, according to ICC, it will cover those from November 01, 2011, up to March 16, 2019.
