Claim: Students required to join the Leni Rally in Cebu
Rating: FALSE
In a post shared by We are One Philippines, the caption reads “Students are required to join the Leni rally in Cebu?” The post has since garnered 24.1k shares, over 15k reactions, and 5.9k comments. (https://www.facebook.com/…/pcb…/2966140620202144)
But in the same post, the memorandum posted by the College of Criminal Justice of the University of Cebu Main campus clearly states that the requirement to attend is for Interns and ROTC students to maintain crowd control and security. They are not required to wear any campaign color but rather they are supposed to wear Type A uniforms.
A similar claim was also made against a faculty member of the University of the Philippines Cebu which claims that they will fail students who support Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos. The now-deleted post also claims that the faculty member will give students “low grades for presenting Marcos’s accomplishments.”
The University of the Philippines Cebu has addressed the issue in an Official Statement posted on their official Facebook page that denies these false allegations and has called these claims “completely baseless”. (https://www.facebook.com/…/a.25026329…/4676420069130229/)
