Claim: Marcos takes lead in the March Social Weather Stations (SWS) presidential survey.
Rating: FALSE
The Facts: A tweet by @ZippyHipolito claims that the Social Weather Stations, a non-profit organization executed a survey on March 2022 in which Marcos ranked first with 58%.
According to his tweet, the “leaked” survey results by SWS were commissioned by Stratbase ADR, an independent, international research organization focused on the in-depth analysis of economic, social, political, and strategic issues influencing the Philippines and the Indo-Pacific region. (https://twitter.com/ZippyHi…/status/1514574415295508485…)
This is false because the documents circulating online are not posted on the official site of SWS.
On the SWS Facebook page, the organization reminds the public through a pinned post that “false reportage about SWS surveys is very common in the period leading up to an election. Everyone is enjoined to rely only on the SWS website.” (https://www.facebook.com/SocialWeatherStations/posts/4636611113085547)
Mangar Mangahas of the SWS already said in his Philippine Daily Inquirer column last April 9, “I made it clear that Social Weather Stations has not been publishing any horse-race statistics for 2022, simply because, for the first time since 1992, it has no media sponsor in the current presidential election season.” (https://opinion.inquirer.net/…/ethics-in-election…)
Mangahas reiterated that supposedly SWS presidential surveys this year are fake news.
“Recently a fellow columnist claimed that Social Weather Stations did an election survey on Jan. 28-31, 2022, and that SWS released the results on Feb. 16, 2022 (see Joel Ruiz Butuyan, “Probing the surveys,” 4/7/22). Yet anyone who checks will see that there is no such SWS report posted on www.sws.org.ph, which would be the legitimate basis for the claim.”
Why we fact-checked this: Several accounts on Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter have been bringing out this supposed survey. Examples are:

Not much is known about “Zippy” aside from being a vocal supporter of the BBM-Sara tandem. The survey came from an unreliable account with no reputable sources. The twitter account was only created in July 2020 with not much profile on the owner.
A Facebook account with a similar name and profile picture claims that he graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1992 with a degree in Philosophy, English, and History. (https://twitter.com/ZippyHipolito and https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100076485755799)
