THE City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) is slated to proceed with seven priority park development projects worth a minimum of P74 million.

City Environment and Parks Management Officer Rhenan Diwas said that at least three of the seven projects have already been bid out, two are awaiting funding, and one is still scheduled for bidding.

Diwas confirmed that the P10 million Baguio Post Office Park improvement project, the P19 million Bayan Park improvement project, and the P18 million Arboretum project have already been bid out and are slated for implementation.

A P19 million development project for Mines View Park and a P8 million way-finding project through the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) are meanwhile in the preparatory stages, Diwas said.

The other two development projects are the development of the Lower Wright Park, and the Upper Wright Park, with the Pines reflection pool being a priority project for concern.

The Wright Park development projects are being undertaken in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to Diwas, the two-year dip in traffic and the pandemic-induced lockdowns allowed the department to proceed with priority park development projects.

Recently, the local government reopened the Botanical Garden to the public following a lengthy rehabilitation and refurbishment effort.
