THE Philippine Military Academy (PMA) has reopened its gates to the general public in a limited capacity as Baguio City settles into life under Alert Level 1.

After two years of visitor restrictions owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PMA issued an advisory allowing tourist entry and visitors for the cadets in the academy for both tourism purposes and to boost morale among cadets housed in the academy, who were not allowed to be visited by loved ones under the restrictions.

In similar fashion to Baguio City itself, PMA has established an online registration system for tourists and visitors, available at bisita.pma.edu.ph. PMA has  set a 300 per day visitor limit in the academy.

Guests are allowed entry from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on weekdays and 8:30 A.M. to 12 noon on Saturdays and Sundays, while PMA alumni can stay up to 3:00 P.M. in the academy.

However, the PMA reminded potential visitors of “carless” Tuesdays and Thursdays, during which it requires visitors to leave their vehicles in designated parking areas and go around the PMA campus on foot or on bicycles.

Fully vaccinated individuals can present their vaccination cards upon entry, while non-fully vaccinated individuals must submit negative COVID-19 test results taken within 72 hours of entry.

Tourists cannot enter residential areas, PMA administrative buildings, other designated restricted areas, and cannot interact with cadets or take pictures of them.

Only parents, foster parents, and direct relatives of cadets are allowed to interact with them subject to coordination with the Headquarters Tactics Group.
