VACCINATION numbers for Baguio’s pediatric population or those aged below 18 years are steadily going up, with the teenage population close to reaching the targeted population.
As of Tuesday, March 8, some 35,307 individuals, 12 to 17 years old, have been jabbed with at least one dose of a two-dose vaccine, while 33,554 have received two jabs, representing 83.39 percent of the eligible population of 40,238.
Meanwhile, vaccination for younger children aged five to 11 years old is also proceeding smoothly, although current numbers are significantly lower.
As of the same date, some 8,211 children in the age range have received at least one dose of a two-dose vaccine, amounting to 17.49 percent of the eligible 46,955 population in the city.
However, only 588 or 1.25 percent of the total eligible population are fully vaccinated.
At the same time, the adult vaccination numbers inch closer to full coverage, with 278,660 adults fully vaccinated, amounting to 99.17 percent of the eligible 281,000.
More than a third of the adult population have also received their booster shots, at around 95,580 or 34.30 percent of the eligible population.
The city continues to offer vaccinations for people outside of Baguio City, but the official numbers presented here do not include La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba and Tublay residents.
