BAGUIO City has committed to sharing its vaccination efforts with neighbors in Benguet by opening up a vaccination site for workers in the neighboring towns of La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay (LISTT) areas.

Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that the city will now allow people from the LISTT areas to avail of vaccinations being given in the city in a bid to aid the reopening of the province’s economies.

“We already need to help our neighboring municipalities, especially those who are adjacent to the city, in terms of vaccination,” he said.

“We are leading in terms of vaccination and we have more capacity to get more vaccines, we will already help them,” Magalong added.

Currently, the city has the largest portion of its eligible population vaccinated out of the areas in the province, with 141,612 of its eligible population fully vaccinated, more than a fourth of the 404,875 persons fully vaccinated in the entire Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Magalong said he had already informed the mayors of the LISTT municipalities regarding the measure, and added that he has already informed the Department of Health-CAR Secretary Carlito Galvez of the city’s plan to make itself a vaccination hub for the neighboring municipalities.
