BAGUIO Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ordered an extension of the currently employed heightened restrictions on mobility and business operations in the city in light of continued high incidence of COVID-19.

According to the Executive Order issued by Magalong, the city’s average cases per day has soared to 240, and nearly 93 percent of the city’s barangays have active COVID-19 cases.

Citing the new numbers on COVID-19 incidence, Magalong has ordered the total closure of the city’s borders to non-authorized persons outside of residence (APORs). Any other travelers who are traveling for non-essential purposes, regardless of point of origin, will not be allowed into the city until September 26.

All persons aged 17 and below can no longer be outside of their residences, unless they are in open, outdoor spaces such as parks, playgrounds, biking and hiking trails, outdoor tourist sites or non-contact sport establishments, or engaging in outdoor dining in limited capacity. They may also be outside for essential transactions or activities that require physical presence such as medical appointments.

Under the ordinance, the ban on the sale and consumption of liquor and alcoholic beverages has also been extended to the 26th of September.

Meanwhile, personal care facilities such as gyms and spas, select recreational facilities such as internet cafes and game arcades, and select tourist attractions such as museums and cultural centers are allowed to operate, but may only accommodate a maximum of 30 percent of its full capacity.
