BAGUIO hospital administrators have agreed to limit access to non-emergency medical referrals coming from outside of the city.

The new rule was put in place to limit admissions of non-Baguio patients into Baguio hospitals and control the potential spread of COVID-19.

Under the new rules, some Baguio hospitals will no longer accept appointments issued by private physicians from outside the city and will instead start requiring letters of acceptance issued by hospital heads here.

Non-emergency patients from outside the city must first go through central triage, present proof of medical appointments such as text message, appointment or acceptance slip, or email from the physician, and provide a quick response (QR) code from registering with the city’s online Health Declaration Form.

Patients can also in lieu of a QR code present a registered health declaration form, a vaccination QR passport, or a vaccination certificate for fully vaccinated inbound travelers.

Inbound patients are exempt from the need to provide reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests unless required by the hospital where the appointment has been scheduled, but all other companions coming in must provide negative RT-PCR test results.
