IN a joint effort of Kibungan’s local government, the community, and the municipal police station (MPS), Kibungan cops have been able to locate a marijuana plantation in  Sitio Balaan, Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet.

According to reports given to Regional Director PBGen Ronald Lee, operatives were tipped off by locals to the presence of alleged marijuana plants in portions of Kibungan.

Using a drone, the Kibungan MPS were able to locate a plantation with some 750 fully-grown marijuana plants and 400 seedlings with a total estimated value of P166,000.

The plants and seedlings were raided on July 9, documented, and then uprooted and burned in compliance with standard procedures.

The raid was part of ongoing efforts to track and uproot drugs in the province, with two raids only four days later on July 12 and 13 yielding some P4.2 million worth of marijuana elsewhere in Kibungan.

The two raids in Badeo, Kibungan yielded an estimated 20 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks, worth some PHP2.4 million, and another 15 kilograms worth PHP1.8 million the following day in a different site.
