CONGRATULATIONS to one of Baguio Chronicle’s columnists, Atty. Mary Inglay Capuyan-Fokno!

She was awarded as an Outstanding Professional Social Worker by the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI). This award was given in recognition of her dedication and service for equality and justice in the community of indigenous peoples.

Atty. Inglay was awarded during the Philippines Social Worker’s Day Celebration on June 19, 2021 with the theme: “Strengthening Solidarity and Inter Connectedness among Filipino Social Workers.”

She hails from Sagada, Mt. Province. She finished high school at St. Mary’s School Sagada, earned her social work degree at Silliman University, her master’s degree in social work at the University of the Philippines Diliman, and her law degree at Saint Louis University.

She is a practicing lawyer and social worker and holds office at La Trinidad, Benguet. She is also the founder and president of Cordillera Quest: Center for Complementary Education and Social Work Services also in La Trinidad. She also writes her monthly column As Life Goes By for the Baguio Chronicle.
