THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) revealed on Tuesday that a lone bettor from Baguio City bagged a P29.7 million Grand Lotto jackpot.

On Monday’s draw, the Baguio bettor guessed the winning combination for the Grand Lotto 6/55: 13 – 19 – 43- 33 – 41 – 46.

The PCSO also said that there is a lone winner for the second prize, worth P100,000.

Meanwhile, no winner claimed the prize for the Mega Lotto 6/45 category, worth P15.3 million, though four second place winners will receive P32,000 each from the sweepstakes.

While the Baguio bettor got the jackpot, the PCSO reminded him and other winners that they will not be able to take home the entire pot.

Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law, any winnings above P10,000 will be subject to a 20 percent tax.

The tax removes some P5.9 million from the bettor’s winnings.

Citing Republic Act No. 1169, PCSO added that prizes not claimed within one year from the draw will also be considered as “forfeited.”

The bettor will have to travel to Mandaluyong City with the tickets and two valid IDs in hand to claim their multimillion peso prize.
